By Land
Located halfway between Halifax and Sydney enroute to Cape Breton,
The Rare Bird is only 25 minutes off the Trans-Canada Highway
(Hwy 104). Travelling from the Halifax International Airport,
take Exit 37 approximately 20 minutes past Antigonish at Monastery.
Turn south onto Highway 16, which leads directly to the beautiful
Guysborough waterfront.
The Rare Bird is a leisurely 4 hour drive from Halifax following
the scenic Marine Drive.

By Sea
Guysborough Harbour features a full-service Marina making it an ideal
stopover for boaters. To navigate Guysborough
Harbour, get a NEW copy of the Strait of Canso and Approaches
Navigational Chart CL4335. The chart provides updated information on accessing Guysborough
Harbour, which was re-charted in 2001. The Guysborough Marina monitors
VHF channels 16 and 68. Visitors can call 902-533-2052 to reserve
a berth or for more information on the Harbour and Marina.

By Air
The favourite landing spot for our Proprietor, Guysborough Harbour
is a thoroughly unique destination for you and your floatplane.
Protected from Chedabucto Bay by a spit of land, this salt water
harbour is located at 45024'N 61029'W or 16nm
SSW of the Port Hawkesbury Airport (CYPD). To navigate to the Guysborough Harbour you will
need a current Moncton VNC (A5003). Unfortunately at this time,
the marina and harbour are not in the Water Aerodrome Supplement.
Pilots can call 902-533-2052 to reserve a berth for their plane
or for more information on the Harbour and Marina.
